Jewish Family Service Calgary has a team of professional, qualified counsellors. We provide a variety of services including individual, couples, child, and family therapy as well as group work.
Our counsellors utilize a variety of theoretical approaches in their work, including: strength based, cognitive-behavioural, systemic therapy, body focused, and play therapy. We have a holistic, client centered approach to counselling; viewing the client in their environment and recognizing the importance of balance among cognitive, emotional, spiritual, social, and physical aspects of Self.
We are committed to the value of learning; demonstrated by our interest in new research and practices as well as participating in regular professional development. JFSC and the Counselling Team have actively sought training and developed capacity to help people in the LGBTQ communities.
Our fees are calculated on a sliding scale according to family income.
JFSC maintains collaborative relationships with other agencies so inter-agency referrals can take place. We also collaborate effectively within the agency so clients can access the holistic, wrap around service we offer.
Our counsellors have experience in the following areas:
- Family and Couples Therapy
- Child and Adolescent Issues
