Safta's (meaning grandmother's in Hebrew) Kitchen is a program centered on building connections through food and nourishing the soul through relationships. The aim is to decrease social isolation through active intergenerational volunteerism and improving quality of life through the sharing of stories and food.
We will be gathering beloved recipes from seniors and re-creating these meals in commercial kitchens throughout the City of Calgary. We hope to engage seniors who wish to participate in Safta's Kitchen and also seniors who can volunteer in Safta's Kitchen. Additionally, we have volunteer roles designed all ages and families, and some particularly for our younger community members.
