JFSC seeks actors to perform in 'The Silent Crime' Socio-Drama!

The Silent Crime is part of the Pan-Canadian Elder Abuse Awareness and Education Program in Ethno-Cultural Communities. As a partner of the project, Jewish Family Service Calgary is facilitating an interactive socio-drama program to build awareness and capacity among community members to prevent and respond to elder abuse.

Auditions will be held March 25 and 26.

Performances will take place in various locations between June 2014 and December 2014 (at the latest). Total of 5 performances.

All actors will be working on a volunteer basis.

CHARACTERS:

PAUL: Elderly man in his 70s; confined to wheelchair

SARA: Middle aged woman, PAUL's daughter

JEFF: Middle aged man, SARA's boyfriend, lawyer

REBECCA: 18 year old girl, SARA's daughter

NURIT: middle aged woman, social worker

TEENAGE BOY: 18-20 years old

TEENAGE GIRL: 18-20 years old

Please note that all characters can be played by actors of any gender, including the couple. Names may be changed accordingly.

Please come prepared with one dramatic, contemporary monologue.
